Morzine

My favourite thing about summer in the Alps is how relaxed it feels compared to the winter months. The air is fresh, the mountains and hills are awash with vibrant colours and there are so many amazing activities to enjoy. In my opinion, a summer holiday in the Alps is a great alternative to, or addition to a summer beach holiday.

I just don't think there's anything like summer in the Alps - the weather's gorgeous, the views are incredible, and there's nothing more refreshing than a dip in a mountain lake after a long hike!

Chamonix

I just love the high surrounding peaks, skies filled with paragliders and a the lively buzz in town. It really is a mecca for appreciating all that the Alps offers in summer. In my view, the Alps are even more breath-taking in their lush summer colours than in their scenic winter blankets!

Verbier

Summer in the Alps is so diverse and that is my favourite thing about it. I love that one day you can be relaxing in the sunshine by the lake and the next you can be throwing yourself down the glacier melt on an awesome white-water rafting trip or hiking up with a picnic to enjoy stunning viewpoints. Whatever the activity though, there is nothing quite like the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you on a summer's day in the mountains.

Megeve

As someone who cannot sit still on a holiday, a trip to the mountains in the summer is perfect combination for me. There's a wide range of activities to participate in, whilst also being surrounded by some of the best scenery and inviting fresh mountain air.

Tignes

Ski in the morning. Paddleboard on the lake at lunchtime. Climb in the afternoon. What more could you possibly want from your summer activity holiday? Marmottes? Well it just so happens that they are there as well!! 🐻

Chatel

What I love the most about summer in the Alps is the stunning scenery. You think it's beautiful in the winter with the snow but just wait until you see the stunning views in the summer and ringing of cow bells in the mountains. It is so green with piercing blue skies, dramatic scenery and deep green blue lakes. It is so fun jumping on the chairlift in walking boots and hiking off to picnic in the mountains or off to some hidden mountain restaurant.

Crans Montana

As a keen golfer, there's no better place to visit in the summer than Crans Montana. Crans has the most amazing courses to play in Europe and if your timing is right, you could be in to watch The Omega European Masters.

Morzine

Morzine is just idyllic. It feels very chilled whilst at the same time feeling busy. Plenty going on but at a nice, Shaun kind of pace!

Samoens

Having visited over Christmas while growing up, summer holidays in Samoens are just as special. Maintaining its charm and traditional alpine village feel, the luscious green fields filled with wildflowers truly transform Samoens from a winter wonderland to a summer oasis.

Zermatt

As an avid skier I would love to say summer skiing on the glaciers, but summer in the Alps is much more. The sheer number of different activities available on a mountain summer holiday makes it much more exciting and versatile when you compare to a beach holiday. The scenery is way better too!

Ortisei

The mountains are the perfect destination to escape the heat of the hottest months. Offering altitude and fresh mountain air, a summer holiday in the mountains delivers the best climate with some amazing activities and scenery.

Val d'Isere

A warm summer afternoon fishing in a crystal clear lake, and a quiet evening walk gazing at the night sky.
