Mallorca or Majorca, whichever way you are inclined, is a sun-kissed island based off the coast of Spain. Boasting some of Europe’s most inviting weather, it’s no wonder this island has become a top choice for luxury villa holidays. With summer temperatures often reaching above 30°C and averaging around 24-25°C in July and August. Every year, this wonderful island attracts families and friends seeking the perfect luxury beach villa in Mallorca.
Whether you’re drawn to secluded coves, lively shores, or breathtaking coastal views, Mallorca offers a diverse array of beaches to suit every taste. In this blog, I decided to share my personal recommendations on the best beaches in Mallorca to visit on your next luxury beach villa holiday…
#1 Cala d’Or
Cala d’Or is located in a similar location to de Mondrago on the east side of Mallorca, just past the small settlement of Santanyi approximately 20 minutes away. Known as the ‘little Ibiza’, Cala d’Or features a series of beautiful, natural coves with turquoise waters framed by pine trees, creating a serene escape. In fact, this stunning area was shaped by the artist Josep Costa in the 1930s, who developed it with low-rise, whitewashed buildings to blend seamlessly with the landscape.
Beyond the beaches, Cala d’Or boasts one of Mallorca’s most picturesque marinas, Cala Llonga. It is a waterfront haven, brimming with lively restaurants, bars, and boutique shops. This vibrant spot is perfect for a yacht hire, boat excursion, or simply an evening stroll by the water’s edge.
#2 Playa de Mondrago

Nestled on the southern east part of Mallorca, Playa de Mondrago offers crystal clear waters that promise an unforgettable, awe-inspiring experience! Partner this up with white sandy beaches, and you have one of the best beaches in Mallorca. Located in a natural park, this beach offers good restaurants and access across a pine walk path that crosses over the bay’s jagged rocks, linking it with the beach and neighbouring bay of S’Amarador. This allows you to enjoy two incredible beaches with ease.
Similar with Playa del Mago, I would highly recommend coming here by boat. In fact, the waters across the bays are beautiful and offer a blissful location to have lunch and experience a top spot for snorkelling in Mallorca. It’s quite simply the dream location for your next luxury villa holiday in Mallorca.
#3 Cala Estellencs
Being on the edge of the UNESCO Tramuntana mountain range, Cala Estellencs is a small and pebbly beach characterised by its steep, rocky coastline. It makes my list of the best beaches in Mallorca for its crystal clear waters. As a result, this spot is unsurprisingly one of the best beaches in Mallorca for snorkelling, where its rocky bays and headlands are flanked with shoals of silvery fish and colourful anemones. Above the waters, you can’t leave without witnessing the unrivalled sunsets at this Mallorca beach. It offers a haven to escape the tourist crowds.
#4 Es Trenc

The beach of Es Trenc is 3 kilometres long with its immaculate, transparent waters, that offer an idyllic setting. This has got to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca I’ve had the pleasure to visit, with white sand and endless azure water that captivates the senses. Although a hot spot for tourists, this is really worth a visit whilst on your luxury villa holiday in Mallorca. In addition, it is also easily accessible from Palma being approximately 45 minutes to the South-East by car.
#5 Playa de Muro
A Blue Flag beach in Mallorca, Playa de Muro is the largest sandy beach in Mallorca covering nearly 6km. With the beach being so vast, there is something for everyone with sections that have lots of amenities, to quieter areas which are more peaceful.
Playa de Muro is one of the best beaches in Mallorca for families. Its shallow waters, easy access, onsite facilities and child-focused activities means the whole family will be happily occupied for hours on end. Not to mention an impressive choice of water sports for the older children and adults. When on your luxury family villa holiday in Mallorca, Playa de Muro is a must!
#6 Playa de Port Pollensa

Located in the north of Mallorca, this Blue Flag, white sandy beach is 1.5km long and offers the perfect spot for water sport enthusiasts. Whilst Playa de Port Pollensa is said to be the best beach for windsurfing in Mallorca, you can also try your hand at water-skiing, paddleboarding, jet skiing, banana boating and kayaking. You can even head out on a boat tour and to try your chances with spotting dolphins!
Back on the beach, try your hand at volleyball. Or relax on one of the many sunbeds available to rent. Alternatively, head a little further away from the main development to find some natural shade to escape the heat. Playa de Port Pollensa is not short of beach bars and restaurants, so it is the perfect day out from your luxury villa in Mallorca. With a wide range of activities to chose from, it’s not hard to see why this is one of the best beaches in Mallorca.
#7 Playa de Camp de Mar

Camp de Mar located in the municipality of Andraxt and South West of Palma by approximately 50 minutes. It is by far one of the most beautiful spots to spend your luxury summer holiday in Mallorca. With a plethora of restaurants to chose from, this is a beach that ticks all the boxes. One of the top places to eat, is the beautiful Illeta restaurant, located on its own small island. The food at Illeta is exceptional and is an excellent choice for a spot of lunch whilst watching the world pass by in paradise.
#8 Cala Tuent

On the Northwest coast is the stunning and arguably the most romantic beach in Mallorca. Cala Tuent is a remote and quieter cove, with jaw-dropping views of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. One of the few accessible beaches on this coastline, you can drive down winding mountain roads, take a hiking trail or even consider a boat excursion.
It’s a popular beach with locals and is the perfect spot to escape the mass tourist crowds. Being one of the most secluded beaches in Mallorca, Cala Tuent doesn’t have the infrastructure or facilities like the more mainstream beaches. However, it is a fantastic spot for snorkelling and swimming, as well as enjoying a romantic picnic at sunset. Villa holidays in Majorca must include a trip to this Balearic paradise beach.
#9 Cala Mesquida
Next on the list of the best 10 beaches in Mallorca is the stunning Cala Mesquida. Located on the north-east of the island, it is one of the few beaches in Mallorca for surfing. Surfers will usually get the best conditions off-season (September to May). Whilst during the height of the summer it will be great for swimming and paddleboarding.
It is one of the more natural beaches in Mallorca, with only one restaurant and one snack bar. However, for more dining options, you will find more choice nearby in Capdepera or Artá. Cala Mesquida attracts a variety of beach visitors. If you fancy a morning stroll or simply relaxing by these golden shores, Cala Mesquida is the place to be!
#10 Playa Del Mago

Playa Del Mago is one of my favourite spots to visit whilst on a summer villa holiday in Majorca! The bay is located to the South West of Palma and is split into two coves with picturesque clear waters. It is perfect for a day out from your luxury beach villa in Mallorca to get that tan you want to achieve or to take in the incredible scenery this cove has to offer. Just a short distance from the quiet town of Sol de Mallorca, this beach is free from the typical tourist crowds and it preserves its natural charm. It also has a unique history as the filming location for ‘The Magician’ in 1967, adding a hint of old Hollywood allure to this serene spot.
This is also a great location for those who will be travelling around the island by boat. In fact, it has plenty of space to anchor up and enjoy a spot of lunch at the Bar Playa del Mago! A must to see on your next luxury Mallorca villa holiday.
I hope this guide has provided a glimpse into the best beaches in Mallorca!
